Abstract: The article considers thin-sheet membrane coatings in the form of a flat and concave positive Gaussian curvature of the shell, supported by a stiffening element on a rectangular plan. An analytical description of the geometric models of a thin-sheet membrane coating, a concave positive Gaussian curvature on a rectangular plan, and a stiffening rib in the form of an I-beam is given. Using the Maple software package, computer models of thin-sheet membrane surfaces and a reinforcing element were generated, taking into account the required density of finite elements and shape. The resulting models were imported into the system of finite element analysis of the stress-strain state of structures SCAD Office for further numerical experiment. The results obtained make it possible to estimate, on the basis of refined approaches, the dimensions of a section of a thin-sheet membrane plate involved in joint work on transverse bending with a reinforcing element, depending on the ratio of their stiffness and changes in surface curvature.
