Optimization of Typical Structural Structures of Coatings on a Rectangular Plan

FSBEI HE «Donbas National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture»
Abstract. The paper presents the results of the optimization calculation of two variants of a typical structural coating design with a plan size of 21×30 meters, consisting of pentahedra. Two implementation options were considered: with a cell of 1,5 and 3 meters. Both variants are pivotally supported on a rigid contour. The own weight of the structure and snow are considered as the load. The load is reduced to the nodal one using the area method. The optimization parameters were the height of the structure and the boom of the lift. The search for the optimal solution is carried out by the method of the deformable Nelder-Mead polyhedron. The target function of the search is the mass of the structure. Optimization calculation is performed in the author’s software package, which is implemented in the MATLAB programming language. A feature of the software package is the ability to exchange data with the LIRA-SAPR automatic design system by means of an output text file.

Complex Tests Carried out on the Basis of the Testing Ground for Power Transmission Poles and Tower Structures FSBEI HE «DONNACEA» (Part 2)

Abstract. Mechanical tests of experimental transmission line supports made according to individual projects are one of the mandatory conditions of Russian and international standards for their further use in the construction of energy facilities. Therefore, designers and manufacturers must have a testing base on which research and acceptance static and dynamic tests of transmission line supports and tower structures are carried out. The article describes an integrated approach to the testing of power grid structures carried out at the Testing Site of transmission line supports and tower structures of the DONNACEA. Complex tests of electric grid structures are provided by the presence of the test base of the Landfill, which consists of a universal test hall, a press room, a climate chamber and a wind tunnel. The testing base allows preliminary testing of hardware, individual elements, assemblies and fragments of supports; mechanical testing of wires; studies of icy loads; aerodynamic testing of structures and wires, etc. If necessary, three testing laboratories of DONNACEA accredited in the field of testing of building materials and engineering protection of buildings and structures in difficult geological conditions are involved in conducting special tests. The second part of the article describes the most interesting tests of various power transmission line supports and special tower structures: freestanding; portal and V-shaped on guy ropes; portal on reinforced concrete pillars installed in a natural base; mobile communication towers for static and dynamic loads; mobile communication towers based on reinforced concrete pillars and metal superstructure in a natural base. The described tests of the supports made it possible to identify errors made at the design, manufacturing stage, not taking into account the peculiarities of rolling and manufacturing of hardware.

Influence of ice and Wind Loads on the Rigid Busbar of Open Switch Devices

a FSBEI HE «Donbas National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture»,
b FSBEI HE «National Research Moscow State University of Civil Engineering»
Abstract. The rigid busbar of open switchgears is exposed to ice and wind loads. Determination of design conditions for wind should be made on the basis of appropriate maps of climatic zoning of the territory of the Russian Federation with clarification, if necessary, of their parameters in the direction of increasing or decreasing according to regional maps and materials from long-term observations of hydrometeorological stations and weather stations on wind speed, mass, size and type of ice-frost deposits. In poorly studied areas, special surveys and observations can be organized for this purpose. The article discusses an effective method for calculating the stressed state of rigid busbar structures under the action of ice and wind loads. Transverse wind vibrations caused by wind resonance can cause fatigue failure of structural elements of rigid busbars, weakening of bolted fastening and contact connections, etc. Various methods are used to combat wind excitation. More detailed information on this topic can be found in works [7–15].

Full-Scale Inspection of Arched Metal Structures Covering the Ilyichevets Sports Complex, Mariupol

FSBEI HE «Donbas National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture»
Abstract. The article considers the study of operational properties, analysis of the actual condition of load-bearing structures, preparation of recommendations for the further normal operation of metal steel structures covering the central block of the sports indoor complex «Ilyichevets» in Mariupol, pre-design instructions for the repair and strengthening of load-bearing structures. In the course of the field survey, the following was carried out: determination of the planned height dimensions of the spatial coverage, geodetic survey of the height marks of the supporting structures, strength verification calculations to determine the compliance of the supporting structures with the requirements of current regulatory documents. The following tools were used during the survey: geodetic equipment, binoculars, cameras, linear measuring instruments. Personal computing equipment was used to process the survey results. The degree of implementation – materials on the technical condition of structures and coating elements, pre-design instructions for reinforcement and reconstruction are provided.
Keywords: spatial coating, metal steel structures, arched truss, roof girders, connections, defect, damage, load, bearing capacity, calibration calculation, technical condition.
