Abstract: The rigid busbar of open switchgears is exposed to ice and wind loads. Determination of design conditions for wind should be made on the basis of appropriate maps of climatic zoning of the territory of the Russian Federation with clarification, if necessary, of their parameters in the direction of increasing or decreasing according to regional maps and materials from long-term observations of hydrometeorological stations and weather stations on wind speed, mass, size and type of ice-frost deposits. In poorly studied areas, special surveys and observations can be organized for this purpose. The article discusses an effective method for calculating the stressed state of rigid busbar structures under the action of ice and wind loads. Transverse wind vibrations caused by wind resonance can cause fatigue failure of structural elements of rigid busbars, weakening of bolted fastening and contact connections, etc. Various methods are used to combat wind excitation. More detailed information on this topic can be found in works [7–15].
