Reinforcement of Building Walls with Steel Clips During Their Operation on Subsidence Soils
Abstract: The article is devoted to the problems of operation and reinforcement of structures of buildings located on subsident soils. The main difficulties encountered in the design, construction and operation of such facilities are considered. These include the heterogeneity of soils, changes in their humidity, instability during the construction phase, as well as precipitation and deformation of structures during operation. Special attention is paid to the problems associated with ensuring the durability of buildings, the need for additional geotechnical studies, strengthening foundations and structures, as well as increased maintenance costs. The author analyzes examples of buildings built on subsident soils, such as residential buildings, kindergartens and other facilities, pointing out typical defects and damages associated with inefficient sanitation, lack of proper technical supervision and insufficient implementation of design measures. The article provides specific examples from practice that illustrate how insufficient control over the condition of structures and poor organization of wastewater disposal can lead to significant deformations of buildings. Measures are proposed to eliminate defects, such as strengthening structures, installing drainage ditches and water-reducing drains, as well as reconstruction of blind areas and foundations. Comprehensive approaches to strengthening buildings, including monolithic belt structures and screeds, are considered, which makes it possible to ensure the durability and stability of the operation of facilities on subsident soils. The article emphasizes the importance of timely diagnosis and implementation of necessary engineering measures to prevent destruction and deformation of buildings located on difficult soils.
