Abstract: In this paper, we consider three different methods for calculating the probability of failure (the method of two moments, statistical tests and Monte Carlo) of the rod element. As an example, a calculation is made for a statically determinate single-span beam loaded with snow load. As initial stochastic values, the cross-sectional area, snow load and the yield point of the construction material were considered. The analysis of the obtained results of failure probability is made and recommendations are made on the applicability of the methods considered.
