Modeling of Real Loading Diagrams of Wind Pressure on Cylindrical Tank using SCAD Software

Abstract: The loading diagram of wind pressure on cylindrical wall of the tank has a difficult form that change in a plan and in height. Account of this type of load in analytical calculations is extremely difficult, in calculating with finite element method using software packages possibility of setting the wind load is determined by the functionality of the program. In this regard, both in domestic and European normative documents is offered method of setting a simplified loading diagram of wind pressure. However, when designing high degree of responsibility buildings, such as reservoirs, there is a necessity to account the real form of wind pressure. In real terms designer may be limited in the choice of the settlement program, in this article discusses the methodology of setting the real loading diagram of wind pressure on cylindrical wall of steel tank using SCAD software.
