Qualitative Parameters of Guyed Chimney Interaction with Anchor Foundations

Abstract: The effect of ground deformation of anchor foundation on stresses and strains in steelworks is dealt with in the paper including guyed steel chimney. The horizontal deformations of ground are modeled by inducing differential movements of a separate foundation in horizontal planes. The guy reactions and bending moments in a chimney shell due to movement are calculated. The most widespread types of chimney of 75 and 100 m high with guys at one or two levels having the horizontal angle of 120° are adopted as the object for research. The calculation model of the structure is a 3D system. The qualitative parameters for the influence of differential soil deformations on guy reactions and internal forces into the chimneys are obtained and analyzed. It demonstrated that there is a linear relation between translations and forces for displacements up to 0.1 m. On the basis of numerical data received the model are proposed and the limit values of displacements are obtained.
